The most important results of experimental study of antibacterial effect of EnergoIod preparation
Development of effective means of struggle against pathogenic microorganisms is one of the main objectives of the present day medicine. Extremely wide and often uncontrolled use of antibiotics resulted in formation of antibiotic-resistant forms of microorganisms.
Nowadays even in highly developed countries (USA and others) tens of thousands of people die annually due to hospital-acquired infections caused in particular by antibiotic-resistant microorganisms.
One of causes of hospital-acquired infections development is their high resistance to antiseptics resulting in ineffectiveness of disinfective measures.
The work was aimed at studying antibacterial action of the studied complex multicomponent preparation containing iodine and polymers.
Results of the studies shown that diluted preparation with dilution rate of 1:10 and 1: 200 shows evident antibacterial effects against E.coli, S.aureus, S.typhimurium, Y.enterocolitica after exposure during 5-30 minutes depending on methods of study. In particular in qualitative-suspension test with application of suspension containing 250 millions and 2 milliards microbial bodies in 1 ml E.coli, S.aureus and S.typhimurium died within 5-10 minutes under the action of this preparation diluted with dilution rate of 1:200, Y.enterocolitica died within 10-15 minutes. Upon study with application of cambric test objects disinfection method this preparation diluted with dilution rate of 1:200 destructed strains E.coli, S.aureus, S.typhimurium in 10-20 minutes and Y.enterocolitica - in 30 minutes.
This preparation diluted with dilution rate of 1:100 has antibacterial effect against strains E.coli, S.typhi, S.typhimurium and V.cholerae, and against Ps.aeruginosa and St.aureus with dilution rate of 1:200 and 1:300 correspondingly.
This preparation is effective against vegetative bacteria B.cereus (strains 12 and 40) with dilution rate of 1:20 and 1:50 correspondingly.
Antibiotic resistance of control pathogenic strains used in experiments was studied.
It was established that strains S.typhimurium and Ps.aeruginosa were able to resist all used antibiotics, V.cholerae was able to resist six antibiotics.
Thus results of the studies shown that this preparation has evident antibacterial effect against tested antibiotic-resistant and chloramines-resistant microorganisms and can be used as an effective agent active against numerous hospital-acquired and wound infections.
Data confirming antibacterial effect of the studied preparation EnergoIod against antibiotic-resistant strains Pseudomonus Aeruginosa and Sal. Tiphi Murium were obtained.
