Action spectrum » Antibacterial Effect of Concentrate and Gel EnergoIod
EnergoIod preparation has broad spectrum antibacterial activity against staphylococcus, streptococcus, gonococcus, meningococcus, pneumococcus, escherichia, shigella, klebsiella, protea, asporous anaerobes and clamydia, which is confirmed by the results of microbiological studies. It must be noted that pharmacoresistance of agents causing purulent infections does not affect favourable effect of therapy with EnergoIod in contrast to antibiotics.
After use of this preparation active iodine is transported directly to the area of purulent inflammation while relieving pain and irritation of tissues, then it is accumulated in the inflamed area.
Acting substance of EnergoIod is not destroyed or deactivated in digestive tract after oral administration. Since this preparation is not metabolized in liver, its antimicrobial activity is not reduced, anaphylactogenic reactions and dysbacteriosis do not develop.
Adaptive capabilities of pathogenic flora allow it to develop genetic resistance not only to antibiotics, sulfanilamides, nitrofurans etc., but also to immunoglobulins. Resistance is not developed with use of EnergoIod because its action is based upon lysis of protein structures and destruction of essential cellular elements of bacteria. Active iodine interacts with all classes of substances contained in human organism, in membranes and cells. It evokes consecutive reactions which result in binding of active component with biologically active substances and creation of new forms (active substance-protein, active substance-enzyme, active substance-hormone, active substance-biological membrane).
Active iodine disturbs normal biochemical reactions in foreign bacterial cells by blocking functions of essential proteins and enzymes or modification of information carried by bacterial RNA or DNA. Molecules of iodine and triiodide ions iodinate purine and pyrimidine bases contained in bacterial nucleic acids suppressing their replication effectively.
Topical action:
Antiseptics are toxic as a rule, they evoke denaturation of proteins in the tissues of host organism, but they do not penetrate into the nidus of infection.
Clinical practice shows that EnergoIod outperforms analogous preparations and prototypes as to the rate of development of antimicrobial effect even with minimal bactericidal concentration. The main peculiarities of this preparation are: absence of irritating and painful effects and ability to penetrate deep into tissues directly to the nidus of purulent infection. EnergoIod Gel is the first preparation allowing to use well known powerful antimicrobial effects of iodine to the full extent directly on living tissues without damaging them.
