Active iodine contained in EnergoIod is absorbed in organism in the upper part of small intestine, then it is transferred to blood plasma and assimilated by thyroid gland. Thyroid gland produces two iodine containing hormones involved in functioning of all organs and organism’s systems: thyroxin and triiodothyronine.
Iodine ions restore basal metabolism in organism and stimulate synthesis of proteins, oxidation of carbohydrates and lipids, affect significantly tissular metabolism, reduce blood viscosity and promote generation of antibodies. Iodine is accumulated in thyroid gland and ovaries where its effects are shown. Iodine is concentrated in areas of chronic inflammation promoting dispersion of inflammation in organs and tissues.
Iodine improves functions of other insecretory glands. It promotes production of active hormone cortisone and other hormones in adrenal cortex which show anti-inflammatory effects.
Active iodine penetrates into tissues very fast passing over blood stream and lymph stream due to its lipophilicity; then it is desolvated, which results in release of active iodine cations showing inflammatory effect.

Active components of the preparation are able to inhibit synthesis of prostaglandin E in tissues through suppression of activity of prostaglandinsynthetase which enhances cells’ ability to resist damaging factors and promotes process of wounds recovery.
Due to powerful anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects this preparation affects exudative phase of inflammation, suppresses proliferative processes in inflamed area and inhibits development of allergic reactions.
